I’ve been trying to avoid posting about “New Year’s Resolutions!” and “Weight Loss!” and all the things that come along with the annual turn of a calendar page.
But running a daily vlog project in which I talk about being a better person and taking a year to do so, it’s inevitable to talk about such things.
I can’t talk about being a better person unless I talk about how I’m planning to do so. Intentions without actions behind them are just words, right?
So I started a Whole30.
And I stopped sleeping all the time (and started getting up early in the morning, like 5:15am early).
And I started a new side hustle to help pay off some debt and allow us to do some mini road trips.
And I kept using my bullet journal.
And I started using my dayplanner an a whole bunch of spreadsheets and waking up early to get work done on one job before starting the other (and oops, I kind of forgot to update the blog for 2 weeks).
So I needed to figure out what would be best for my morning meal on a Whole30 that would work to fuel me through my morning. Something that would have enough fat for my body to burn to keep it sated (and from making that weird growly rumbling noise only in really quiet places like libraries and in church), and something that would taste good.
Because let’s be honest, if it doesn’t at least taste good, what’s the point?
Enter Bulletproof Coffee. True Bulletproof Coffee with MCT (or Brain Octane) oil and grass-fed ghee is the stuff I imagine would have lit up Edison. Would have driven Ford. Would have electrified Ben Franklin. Would have sent Glenn into orbit.
Yes I love puns.
I never thought putting butter in my coffee would change my whole morning. I used to make LOTS of fun of people who did this, to be perfectly honest. Weird hippy people who like putting butter in their coffee are now my kinds of people.
Bulletproof coffee fuels me nearly every morning now, and was the perfect accessory to each Whole30 breakfast. Kept me alert, awake and fueled through most of my days except that one where I couldn’t figure out why my day was so weird. (Turns out I didn’t actually make coffee that day. Just water. With ghee and MCT oil in it.)
I’m hooked on the stuff now. Got me through Christmas while KILLING my to-do list (no forgotten presents here!). Got me up early on New Year’s Day and kept me going until late.
All in all, Bulletproof Coffee is the unofficial official drink of the Building A Better Cupcake vlog project, because what else could keep me going to make a vlog every day this year?
Because sheer grit and stubbornness will most likely only get me through to early March, to be honest.
This post was sponsored by Bulletproof Coffee (though it’s my favorite, and I love them. They also made me an ambassador, so that’s pretty rad.)
